Step 1: Make a circle

Create new document with 500 pixels by 500 pixels. Firstly make circle with Ellipse Tool (L). You can choose any size, mine is 100 pixels * 100 pixels.

Step 2: Change the shape

Drag right anchor point with the Direct Selection Tool (a).

Step 3: Copy

Our shape is ready. So how do we copy this shape? You can do it using Copy and Paste functions, but it will take so long and for me it’s a boring job. In this case we use Transform function. Select the object and go to Effect > Distort & Transform > Transform. In the Transform dialog change the Copies to 9, Rotate 45 degrees. I should mention the most important point here, you should click the small right rectangle as shown in the picture, otherwise you may get different result.

Step 4: Color

Before coloring we need to go Object > Expand Appearance and then Ungroup. Now we give any color to objects.

Below is the final image we will be working towards.

Step 1

Create new document with 520 pixels by 600 pixels. Draw a rectangle with 312 pixels width and 500 pixels height. With the rectangle selected, go to Filter > Stylize > Round Corners and change the Radius to 25 pixels and press OK. Also, apply a 0.5 pixel stroke with 30% Grayscale.

Then apply a linear gradient color to the rectangle. We will use 9 different black swatches as written below:

1. Black 30% – Location of this slider is 0%;

2. Black 30% – Location 1%;

3. Black 100% – Location 4%;

4. Black 30% – Location 15%;

5. Black 40% – Location 50%;

6. Black 30% – Location 85%;

7. Black 100% – Location 96%;

8. Black 30% – Location 99%;

9. Black 30% – Location 100%.

With Rectangle selected go to Object > Path > Offset to open the Offset Path dialog. Change the Offset to -15 pixels and press OK. Change the color to white.

With Smaller Rectangle  selected go to Object > Path > Offset to open the Offset Path dialog. Chan the Offset to -1 pixels and press OK. Then apply a black color to the smallest rectangle. This time with the smallest rectangle selected go to Effect > Stylize > Feather to open Feather dialog. Change the feather radius to 4 pixels and press OK.

Again with the smallest black rectangle selected go to Object > Path > Offset to open the Offset Path dialog. Change the Offset to -3 pixels and press OK. Then apply a linear gradient color to the rectangle as shown in the picture. Don’t forget to delete feather function from this rectangle.

Use the pen tool to draw a shape and apply a gradient as shown below. Copy (Ctrl + C) the last rectangle and paste in front (Ctrl + F) of it. Select both shapes and choose intersect shape areas from the pathfinder tool. Make Transparency Opacity Screen 75%.

Now draw a rounded rectangle with 265 pixels width and 335 pixels height and apply a gradient as shown below.

With New Rectangle  selected go to Object > Path > Offset to open the Offset Path dialog. Chan the Offset to -3 pixels and press OK. Then apply a gradient as shown below.

At this step we will repeat step 6. Copy (Ctrl + C) the last blue rectangle and shape we created at the step 6 then paste in front (Ctrl + F) of them. Select both shapes and choose intersect shape areas from the pathfinder tool. Make Transparency Opacity Screen 75%.

Group all elements. Draw a rounded rectangle with 73 pixels width and 7 pixels height, radius is 7 pixels. Then apply a black color. With Rectangle  selected go to Object > Path > Offset to open the Offset Path dialog. Chan the Offset to -2 pixels and press OK. Then apply a black and white linear gradient. Group two new rounded rectangles and place them at the top of the phone.

Draw a rounded rectangle with 50 pixels width and 50 pixels height, radius is 7 pixels. Then apply a gradient as shown below. With Rectangle  selected go to Object > Path > Offset to open the Offset Path dialog. Chan the Offset to -3 pixels and press OK. Grab the Eyedropper Tool from the tools panel and click on the biggest rectangle. Adjust the orientation of color from top left to bottom right.

Draw a Ellipse with 40 pixels width and 40 pixels height. Then apply a green color as shown below. Then draw two rectangles bigger than ellipse. Put on of them on the top of the ellipse, the other one on the bottom. Select three shapes and choose divide from the pathfinder tool. Delete all parts except the shape as shown below.

Copy (Ctrl + C) the last shape and paste in front (Ctrl + F) of it. Make its size two times smaller than bigger shape. With two shapes selected choose Vertical Align Bottom from Align Panel. Again Divide them.

Copy (Ctrl + C) and paste (Ctrl + V) it. Apply a red color to the second shape. Place green (Phone Call) shape to the left and red (Stop Call) shape to the right of the Phone.

Step 1

Create a new document with 370 pixels by 370 pixels.  Select a Pie Graph Tool from Tools Panel.

Step 2

Draw a Graph 350 pixels width and 350 pixels height. Enter the information from left to right. I entered 70, 15, 7 and 8, but you may choose any amount you want. Press the check box button in the upper right corner when you finished.

Now delete the stroke and go to Menu > Object > Ungroup (Shift+Ctrl_G) to open the Ungroup dialog. There will be a warning message, Press Yes.

Transform the main graph shape vertical and Rotate it 60 degree. Then select the graph and go to Effect > 3D > Extrude & Bevel. Enter the values shown below to achieve the look I’ve taken. Don’t forget to change Surface to No Shading option.

Go to Object > Expand Appearance and Ungroup two times. Now it’s time to give colors. I use Gradient to colorize all the parts of the Graph. To the biggest part of the graph I gave these colors: R-110, G-17, B-4; R-117, G-9, B-9; R-110, G-17, B-4.

Step 6

Select each part of the graph and give it a gradient fill with colors you want. Here is mine.

Step 7

Select all parts of the graph and group them. Copy and Paste in Front. With arrow buttons move it to the bottom 11 times then Send it to Back. Make Transparency Opacity 40%. You should get this result.

Step 1

Open a new document with 420 pixels by 420 pixels. Activate Smart Guides in View Menu (Ctrl+U). Draw a circle with a Ellipse Tool 400 pixels width and 400 pixels height.

Step 2

Fill the circle with a linear gradient with colors from R=38, G=169, B=224 to R=43, G=56, B=143.

With Circle selected go to Object > Path > Offset to open the Offset Path dialog. Change the Offset to -30 pixels and press OK.

Step 4

Fill the smaller circle with a linear gradient with Grayscale color 20%  to 5%. Set the angle to -90 degree.

Now with Smaller Circle selected go to Object > Path > Offset to open the Offset Path dialog. Change the Offset to -0 pixels and press OK.

Don’t change the color of the smallest circle, only change the gradient angle to 90 degree.

Select all circles and group them. Draw a triangle with Star Tool that is 100 pixels width Radius 1 and 100 pixels Radius 2, Points – 3, press OK.

Rotate the Triangle to -90 degree, press OK.

Place the Triangle at the center of Circles. Select Triangle and with Eyedropper Tool click on the biggest circle that is blue gradient. Change the gradient angle to 90 degree.

With Triangle selected go to Object > Path > Offset to open the Offset Path dialog. Change the Offset to -10 pixels and press OK.

Draw a rectangle that intersects the triangle. With rectangle and triangle selected press the Subtract From Shape Areas button in the Pathfinder Panel.

Fill it with a linear gradient with colors white and black, change the gradient angle to -90 degree. Last step, change the transparency to Screen Mode.

This is the final icon we will design.

Step 1

Create a new document with 400 pixels width by 400 pixels height and draw a rectangle with 300 pixels width and 325 pixels height.

With the rectangle selected, go to Filter > Stylize > Round Corners and change the Radius to 30 pixels and press OK.

Step 3

Fill the rectangle with a Linear Gradient from the Gradient Panel. Change the first swatch in the gradient to a green color and change the second swatch to a yellow and change the angle to 90 degree.

Draw a star that is 200 pixels width Radius 1 and 150 pixels Radius 2, Points – 3, press OK.

Step 5

Select the new star shape recently created and rectangle press the Horizontal Align Center and Vertical Align Top from Align Objects in Align Panel.

Star and rectangle shapes selected press the Intersect shape areas from shape models in the Pathfinder Panel. Press Expand Button.

Step 7

Now we will create the roof of the house. Draw a rounded rectangle that is 280 pixels width, 60 pixels height and 30 pixels corner radius.

Fill the rounded rectangle with a Linear Gradient from the Gradient Panel. Change the first swatch in the gradient to a dark green color and change the second swatch to a green and rotate the shape 45 degree.

Select rounded rectangle and go to Objects – Transform – Reflect and press Copy.

Group two rounded rectangles.

Now select rounded rectangle and body of the house previously created press Horizontal Align Center in Align Panel.

Select the roof shape and go to Object > Path > Offset to open the Offset Path dialog. Change the Offset to -3 pixels and press OK.

Copy and Paste in Front the object we created through Offset and move it to bottom 7 pixels. Select two new rounded rectangles and press the Subtract From Shape Areas button in the Pathfinder Panel.

Draw a rounded rectangle that is 88 pixels width by 177 pixels height, corner radius is 30 pixels and place it on the right side of the house, then send it to the back.

Step 14

Now we know how to give a special effect to the top of the object. Select last rounded rectangle go to Object > Path > Offset to open the Offset Path dialog. Change the Offset to -3 pixels and press OK. Copy and Paste in Front the object we created through Offset and move it to bottom 7 pixels. Select two new rounded rectangles and press the Subtract From Shape Areas button in the Pathfinder Panel.

Our last step, draw a rectangle that is 70 pixels width by 140 pixels height and place it over the body of the house icon. By the way our green house icon is ready.
